Method
Our facts on firms, cases and settlements are drawn from court filings, federal agencies such as the FDA, CPSC and NHTSA, press coverage and the firms' own websites. Each page cites what it relies on and records when it was last checked. We decide the order in which firms appear. The tables set out each firm's court appointments and reported outcomes so readers can judge for themselves.
